Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 2026

This page explains how Pimping Rounds (pimpingrounds.com) uses cookies and similar browser storage technologies.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They allow the site to remember information between visits, such as your preferences or game progress.

Browser storage we use

We use localStorage (a browser storage technology similar to cookies) to remember your preferences and game progress. None of these entries contain personally identifiable information, and none are shared with third parties for advertising purposes. Because localStorage has no built-in expiry, entries persist until you clear your browser's site data.

Key Purpose Expires
activeCategory Remembers the last category (e.g., internal medicine, surgery) you selected so it is restored on your next visit. Until cleared
darkMode Remembers whether you have enabled dark mode. Until cleared
gameStats Stores your cumulative game statistics (total puzzles played and solved) locally in your browser. Until cleared
game_YYYY-MM-DD_<category> Saves your guesses and solved status for each daily puzzle so your progress is preserved if you leave and return. One entry is created per day per category played. Until cleared

Third-party cookies (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics (gtag.js) to understand aggregate, anonymous usage patterns — for example, how many people visit the site. Google may set its own cookies (such as _ga) to distinguish visitors. These cookies do not identify you personally.

You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

How to manage or delete cookies

All modern browsers let you clear site data (including localStorage) through their privacy or settings menu. Clearing the entries listed above will reset your category preference, dark mode setting, game statistics, and daily puzzle progress.

Changes to this policy

If we add new cookies in the future this page will be updated. The "last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes.
